<p>The invention relates to a sealed product especially employed in distribution boxes for electrical connections, electronic devices, optical fibres, optical devices and the like. Preferred aspects of the invention relate to cable closures, e.g. cable splice closures for enclosing splices between cables. The sealed product (1) for making a cable distribution box which contains a) a housing (3) including an opening and a cavity (15), at least one cable being extendable through each of them during the use, b) a sealing element (2) comprising (i) a sealing material (5) and (ii) a carrier (4) to which the sealing material (5) is attached, is characterized in that the sealing material (5) contains a block of sealing material and in that the carrier (4) is provided with attachment means (8) and the cavity (15) is provided with another attachment means (10), the attachment means (8 and 10) interacting so that at least one portion of the sealing material (5) is retained in the cavity (15).</p> |
