The device is for modification of the throughflow aperture of a heat exchanger (5) for exchange of heat from a turgid fluid with long fiber and granular solid constituents. The cord (1) in the heat transfer component comprises a movable, easily deformable elastic casing (3) with a self-centering round top, which with a pressure medium is held to the adjusted cross-section. The fluid to be cooled can therefore flow through a ring channel (6). The cross-section of the core is so chosen that the optimal width of the ring-shaped channel is achieved between the core and the inner wall of the heat exchanger, having regard for the heat transfer capacity and volume flow of the fluid.
