Two arms can be moved using a manually operated transmission so that their ends are moved together in order to grip against opposite sides of the mattress. The transmission comprises a gear-wheel and a gear rim mounted on the upper arm. A catch mechanism comprising a catch wheel and a hook rests on top of the gear-wheel axle. A handle mounted in the upper part of the hook is used to operate the device. A second handle can be provided for carrying the device. |
