FIELD: mechanical engineering; production of cutting tools with multilayer coating. ^ SUBSTANCE: the invention is pertaining to the field of mechanical engineering, in particular, to production of cutting tools with multilayer coating, mainly to production of abrasive resistant coatings on a cutting tools and can be used in the metal working. The offered tool contains an instrumental base made out of a hard alloy and a wear-resistant ion-plasma coating consisting of the lower, intermediate and upper layers. The invention provides, that the lower and upper layers of 2 microns thick are made out of titanium nitride and zirconium at the following ratio of the metallic ingredients (in mass %): titanium - 47-53, zirconium - 53-47, and the intermediate layer is made out of titanium nitride. At that the total thickness of the coating makes 6 microns. The invention ensures an increased service capability of the cutting tools, a high strength of cohesion and an adhesion power of the layers with the base. ^ EFFECT: the invention ensures an increased service capability of the cutting tools, a high strength of cohesion and an adhesion power of the layers with the base. ^ 1 tbl |
