Method for automated exchange of media in cell cultures and for minimizing the risk of contamination uses a transparent perfusion cover (1) for multiplate wells capable of being examined by microscopy. The cover consists of a hollow chamber (3) defined by two plates. Independent claims are also included for the following: (1) apparatus for the process, comprising (I); and (2) a transparent perfusion cover (I).
