Loudspeaker with shaped sound field

A loudspeaker that allows the wide sound field characteristics of an omni-directional loudspeaker to be shaped is disclosed. The loudspeaker 20 includes a driver 24 mounted so that its cone 50 faces out the angled upper surface of a base 42. A sound reflector is located above the driver and has a sound reflecting surface 58. The location and shape of the sound reflecting surface, and the angle of the driver's axis enable the sound produced by the loudspeaker to be shaped in a desired fashion.
