The invention relates to construction, in particular, to bank protecting structures in severe climatic conditions within towns and settlements.The inventive aim is to provide using gabion systems comprising Renault mats and gabion cages, said systems are manufactured from low-alloyed steel grade 25G2S of at least 10 mm in diameter taking into account corrosion during operation time with anti-corrosion protection. To withstand ice loads during spring tides gabion cages have a protecting reinforced concrete wall from the river side supported by a reinforced concrete grillage with piles, the wall is anchored to the gabion cage by special metal embedded elements. As a result, semi-rigid gabion systems have high water-permeability, strength and longevity. They improve ecology of residential zone and near-by areas.
