A connector for a card, facilitating installation and removal of the card, having a simple structure, and being compact. A connector (1) has a body (2) with a reception section (2a) for receiving an IC card (100), six contact springs (6) projecting from a bottom surface (3a) of the reception section (2a), on which the IC card (100) is placed, and individually in elastic contact with contact terminals (101) of the IC card (100), a fixed engagement section (20) provided on the rear surface side of the body (2), a movable engagement member (5) provided on the front surface side of the body (2) and movable in a forward/backward direction of the body (2), and a plate spring (18) for urging the movable engagement member (5) to the rear surface side of the body (2). An inclined surface (5b) is formed on the rear surface side of an engagement section (5c), and the inclined surface is formed such that the closer to the bottom surface (3a) of the reception section (2a) the inclined surface is, the closer the inclined surface is to the back surface of the body (2). The fixed engagement section (20) and the bottom surface (3a) of the reception section (2a) are caused to hold a front end section of the IC card (100), and the engagement section (5c) provided on the rear surface side of the movable engagement member (5) and the bottom surface (3a) of the reception section (2a) are caused to hold a rear end section of the IC card (100).
