The invention relates to a method for controlling access to devices in a vehicle communication network(1). Said method is used to regulate access by an application (4) to the device (5) required for the application. Priorities are granted for said access. The drive needed for operating and controlling the individual devices is made available to the application by a driver manager (3). A resource manager (2) assigns the device to a requesting application in line with priority and availability.
