<p>Improved immunoassays for the protection of antibodies againstLawsonia intracellularis are provided which permit rapid, easy detection of low concentration of anti-Lawsonia antibodies in animal-derived specimens. The preferred assay is an ELISA assay employing an antigenic extract of L. intracellularis lipopolysaccharide.</p>
