PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To output right and left images of an encoded stereo video image simultaneously.

SOLUTION: This dynamic picture image decoding method for decoding encoded data of an interlaced scanning image including a Top field and a Bottom field comprises a step for acquiring stereo information indicating whether the Top field and the Bottom field are two sheets of image constituting a stereo image or not, from the encoded data, a step for decoding two corresponding fields from the encoded data to generate two decoded fields, and a step for outputting the two decoded fields wherein the two decoded fields are outputted simultaneously with reference to the stereo information.
