<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To find out a new gene of which expression in astroglia cells is induced by a β-amyloid, identify a polypeptide encoded by the gene, and use the gene and polypeptide as means for diagnosing and treating neuropathy associated with the β-amyloid. <P>SOLUTION: This new gene of which expression is induced by a β-amyloid stimulation, is obtained by a cDNA subtraction method, and a new polynucleotide, a polypeptide encoded by the polynucleotide, a recombinant vector containing the polypeptide, a transformant having the recombinant vector, an antibody against the polypeptide, a method for producing the polypeptide, a method for identifying a compound regulating the expression of the gene and/or protein by using the above materials, the compound obtained from the method, a medicinal composition for the neuropathy associated with the β-amyloid by using them, a method of diagnosis, a diagnosis kit, a method of treatment, etc., are provided. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2006,JPO&NCIPI |
