PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a technique to prevent water leakage by watching the sealed state of a washing tub with a simple device structure and suspending the operation when the sealed state is not retained. SOLUTION: The dishwasher comprises the washing tub with an opening for storing dishes to be washed, a lid for closing the opening of the washing tub, a means of varying the pressure inside the washing tub, a means of detecting the variation of the pressure inside the washing tub, and a means of determining the sealed state of the opening based on the detected variation of the pressure inside the washing tub.
