PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an electric power steering device preventing breakage of a field effect transistor in feed forward-control. SOLUTION: The electric power steering device is provided with a target current setting part 34 for setting a target current fed to an electric motor 8 and outputting a target current signal IT; a first driving control signal production part 35 for producing a first driving control signal C1 for driving the electric motor 8 based on deflectionΔIM of the target current signal IT and an electric motor current signal IMO; a second driving control signal production part 36 for producing a second driving control signal C2 for driving the electric motor 8 based on the target current signal IT; a control mode switching part 38 for controlling the electric motor 8 by switching to the first driving control signal C1 in the normal state of an electric motor current detection means 21 and switching to the second driving control signal C2 in failure of the electric motor current detection means 21; and an electric motor driving part 40 for rotating/driving the electric motor 8.
