The active steering system has an electro-dynamic brake (31) with a stator, which is fixed on vehicle (10) and is so arranged that it operates, directly or indirectly, the steering drive inlet (22). The steering drive inlet exhibits power propelled rotor (33) and the braking action of electro-dynamic brake is adjustable.
