摘要 <P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To surely remove or reduce image noise around high-frequency components from a gray-level image collected by ultrasonic diagnostic equipment, surely secure information on observationally important portions including a lot of high-frequency components such as a boundary of a structure on the image and ensure the reduction of speckle noise. <P>SOLUTION: The noise of sampling data produced from reflected waves of the ultrasonic wave signal obtained by scanning the ultrasonic wave signal in a subject is reduced before scan conversion. Concretely, the image processing device computes pixel change information, as a spatial change of the pixel value of the sampling data becomes larger, showing a large absolute value (steps S1-S4), computes a weighting factor according to the computed pixel value change information (a step S5), and weightedly adds the sampling data and the data of smoothing images of the sampling data mutually using the weighting factor (a step S6). <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2006,JPO&NCIPI
