PURPOSE: An automatic loop forming device of a binding machine is provided to increase a range of goods to be bound by automatically forming loop of a band binding the goods and controlling a size of the loop. CONSTITUTION: An automatic loop forming device of the binding machine includes a pair of loop guide cams(20A,20B) mounted on a shaft of a cam driving motor(22) and having operation holes(24A) at different positions, a pair of operation members(30A,30B), an elastic member(40) mounted at a central part of each loop guide cam, and a pair of loop guides(50A,50B). The operation members have guide rollers(32A,32B) contacted to the loop guide cams and rack gears(34A,34B) formed on upper ends. A central portion of each operation member is mounted on a housing(16) by a first hinge(18). The elastic member is mounted at the center of each loop guide cam and provides upper ends of the operation members with elasticity so that upper ends of the operation members are spread on the first hinge to the outside. The loop guides are formed in an arc and have loop guide holes(52A,52B) and pinion gears(54A,54B) engaging with the rack gears.
