<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an authentication apparatus which can easily realize an authentication limit even when a flash memory is used as a nonvolatile memory. <P>SOLUTION: An authentication control flag group 8 is provided on the data area of the flash memory. The authentication control flag group 8 has a plurality of authentication control flags. And, each authentication control flag has, for example, 4 bits. At the authentication failure time, "0" is written at the head bit of an authentication control flag 6, and a reauthentication standby is set. At the reauthentication failure time, "0" is written in next bit, a third time authentication standby is set. When the third time authentication is failed, "0" is written in the next bit, and an authentication lock is set. When the authentication is performed, it constitutes so that errors may always be returned. Since the number of times of the authentication failures is counted only by writing without necessity of rewriting the authentication control flag, even if the flash memory is used, the authentication limit can be easily realized. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2006,JPO&NCIPI</p> |
