PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To process a plurality of kinds of business forms (such as transfer paper, payment paper and a money collection card) by one business form handling machine. SOLUTION: This business form handling machine is composed of a horizontal carrying passage for carrying its taken-in predetermined business form in the horizontal direction by taking the predetermined business form placed on a placing table in a body of the business form handling machine, an optical reading processing unit arranged in its horizontal carrying passage and optically reading the content recorded on the predetermined business form, a magnetic data processing unit arranged in the horizontal carrying passage, reading magnetic data recorded on the predetermined business form and writing new magnetic data when necessary, a vertical carrying passage for receiving and upwardly carrying the predetermined business form from the horizontal carrying passage, a printing processing unit arranged in its vertical carrying passage and printing the predetermined content on the predetermined business form when necessary, and a stacker for receiving the predetermined business form carried by the vertical carrying passage.
