PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image composing device and method enabling a clear distinction of character information such as an imaging date from a background original image when mapping it onto the original image by colorization. SOLUTION: The image composiing device 10, which composites a composition image into a composition area of an original image after correcting a preset color of the composition image, comprises a histogram creation means 21 for dividing two-dimensional color coordinates into a plurality of color regions and allocating the colors of one or more pixels of the composition area to corresponding color regions to create a histogram, a color region decision means 22 for deciding the color region of the color of the composition area according to the histogram and a predetermined threshold, a color matching means 23 for determining whether or not the decided color region of the composition area is the same as the color region of the color of the composition image, and a color correction means 24 for correcting the color of the composition image according to the histogram and predetermined threshold if the color regions are the same.
