PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a colored polyester film for metal lamination which is excellent in lamination properties, molding/processing properties, and the retort deposition resistance of an oligomer and pigment and suitable for producing a beautiful metal can for food. SOLUTION: In the biaxially oriented polyester film for metal lamination in which at least two layers are laminated and biaxially oriented, a layer which has an intrinsic viscosity of at least 0.68 and does not contain a colored pigment exists as a layer (layer A) on the opposite side to a metal-laminated surface, and a layer which has an intrinsic viscosity of 0.65 or below and contains 0.01-50 wt.% of the colored pigment exists as a layer (layer B) on the metal lamination side.
