PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a working device having a retractable cutting edge part for the tool body, capable of preventing the produced chips from intruding into the tool body along a chip ejecting groove formed at the peripheral surface of the cutting edge part. SOLUTION: The working device 11 is equipped with the tool body 13 mounted removably on the spindle of a machine tool and the retractable cutting edge part 17 for the tool body 13, and the chip ejecting groove 19 is formed at the peripheral surface of the cutting edge part 17. The arrangement further includes a fluid supply passage 53 to supply to the ejection groove 19 the chip ejecting fluid for ejecting the chips produced by the cutting edge part 17 from the groove 19, and the chips are ejected from the groove 19 by supplying the ejecting fluid from the fluid supply passage 53 to the groove 19 in the cutting edge 17, and the chips are prevented from intruding into the tool body along the groove 19 by ejecting the chips from the groove 19.
