PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a gradient coil with a high RF (radio frequency) shielding effect. SOLUTION: An upper X-axis gradient coil 1Xt comprises a first coil 1Xt-1, a plurality of capacitances C connecting conductor patterns P of the first coil 1Xt-1, a second coil 1xt-2 nearly symmetrical to the first coil 1Xt-1, and a plurality of capacitances C connecting conductor patterns P of the second coil 1Xt-2. The plurality of capacitances C are arranged in the direction of the RF magnetic field (the direction of the X-axis) so that the part in the direction (the direction Y) orthogonally crossing the direction of the RF magnetic fields of the first coil 1Xt-1 and the second coil 1Xt-2 can be divided and shortened. As a result, the RF current induced by the conductor patterns P of the gradient coil flows in a plurality of small loops through the plurality of capacitances C, so that the gradient coil behaves like a conductor network, and therefore, a high RF shielding effect can be obtained.
