PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a rubber composition exhibiting a high grip performance, and to provide a tire using the same. SOLUTION: This rubber composition comprises 100 pts.wt. of natural rubber and/or a dienic synthetic rubber, 0.1 to 30 pts.wt. of thiourea-based compound represented by the general formula (R<SP>1</SP>to R<SP>4</SP>are each independently H, a 1 to 8C alkyl, a 1 to 8C aminoalkyl, or a non-substituted or 1 to 8C alkyl-having phenyl), and 0.1 to 30 pts.wt. of a protonic acid and/or a phenol compound, and a tire comprising the rubber composition.
