METHOD OF FORMING METAL COATING FILM ON CERAMIC BASE MATERIAL SURFACE AND METALLIZED CERAMIC BASE MATERIAL

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method of forming a metal coating film on the surface of a ceramic base material by which the high adhesive strength metal coating film is inexpensively formed without roughening the surface of the base material by firmly bonding fine particles on the ceramic base material with the decrease of a firing temperature and electroless-plating or elctroplating with the fine particles as a catalytic nuclei and to provide a metallized ceramic base. SOLUTION: The formation of the metal coating film on the surface of the ceramic base material comprises (1) a step for applying one obtained by mixing≥2 kinds of fine particles consisting of noble metals and fine particles each made of a component having high affinity to the ceramic on the surface of the ceramic base material, (2) a step for firmly fixing the fine particles on the surface of the base material by heating at 200-500°C and (3) a step for depositing the metal coating film with the fixed fine particles as a seed layer on the surface of the ceramic base material.
