A refrigerated container (1000) and a corresponding method for closing or opening an access area of a refrigerated container by means of a laterally guided and displaceable cover body (1200) are known. The closing and/or opening process is automatically carried out by means of a closing and/or opening device (2000) after a given time and automatically ended, either on reaching the closed position (5) or the open position (0), or automatically interrupted by a force component of an interfering force opposing the lateral movement and exceeding a threshold value. According to the invention, a positive and/or frictional fit between the cover body (1200) and/or the refrigerated container (1000) and/or the closing and/or opening device (2000) is preferably lifted outside the period of the automatic closing and/or opening process to permit a manual displacement of the cover body (1200), without having to apply a manual force exceeding the threshold value.
