<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a color display device which makes various color displays including the three primary color display with simple wiring. <P>SOLUTION: The pixels 50 of the color display element is composed of the 1st subpixels 52 to make color display by using a modulation area based on the hue changes of the medium, and the 2nd subpixels 51 having one of the red, green, and blue filters.
