摘要 <P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an optical compensation film that contributes to improving an optic angle property at the time of black display of a liquid crystal display device, and reducing a color drift from an oblique direction. <P>SOLUTION: The optical compensation film comprises: a transparent film in which the Re/Rth (450 nm), the ratio of an Re to an Rth in the wavelength of 450 nm, is 0.4-0.95 times the Re/Rth (550 nm) in the wavelength of 550 nm, the Re/Rth (650 nm) in the wavelength of 650 nm is 1.05-1.93 times the Re/Rth (550 nm), and the retardation Rth of the thickness direction in the wavelength of 550 nm is 70-400 nm; and an optical anisotropy layer which is formed of a composition containing a liquid crystalline compound. The crossing angle of the orientation average direction in the interface on at least the side of the transparent film of the molecular symmetrical axis of the liquid crystalline compound, and the slow axis in the surface of the transparent film is approximately 45&deg;. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2006,JPO&NCIPI
