PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To increase a quantity of residual toner that can be collected, by making the collected residual toner uniform. SOLUTION: When image patterns formed only in the middle are printed in a large quantity, residual toner H accumulates only in the vicinity of the middle. Nonuniform accumulation of the residual toner H fails in correct detection of the quantity of the collected residual toner H. In addition, since the residual toner H naturally falls in a toner collection case 58, heaps and accumulates, it has a low bulk density and a large bulk. By applying minute vibrations to the toner collection case 58, the residual toner H is made even and uniform, so that the correct quantity of the collected residual toner can be detected. In addition, the minute vibration increases the bulk density of the residual toner H and decreases the bulk (volume) of it.
