SPINDLE MOTOR, DISK DRIVE HAVING THE SAME, AND MANUFACTURING METHOD FOR DISK DRIVE

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a compact and a thin spindle motor wherein no non-uniform pressure is applied to a recording medium when the recording medium is fixed to a hub, a disk drive having the spindle motor, and a manufacturing method for the disk drive. SOLUTION: This spindle motor is provided with: a sleeve which is supported by a fixed shaft and rotates around a predetermined axis; and a hub which is disposed in the outer peripheral part of the sleeve. The hub has: a cylindrical part which is inserted into the center hole of a disk-like recording medium, is concentric to the axis of the sleeve and in which a male screw is formed in its outer peripheral surface; and a first receiving surface which is connected to the cylindrical part and holds the recording medium vertically to the axis.
