PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a very simple intrusion detector and an intrusion detection system which are capable of detecting intrusion at a low cost. SOLUTION: The intrusion detector includes; an optical cable 1 which is stretched in an intrusion prohibited region and has a support wire part 1a and an optical core part 1b; an optical loss generation part 5 which has a mobile material, which is brought into contact with the optical core part 1b to forcibly bend the optical core part 1b when being displaced by an external force to the optical cable 1, and is provided in a terminal part of a stretching path of the optical cable 1 and generates optical transmission loss in the optical core part 1b; and an optical loss detection part 4 which detects the optical transmission loss. The optical loss detection part 4 is operated in response to a certain value or more of attenuation of the optical transmission loss to output a signal for activating a device for intrusion detection.
