PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a medium conveying device in which a feeding speed is not fluctuated even when a thick medium is fed out from a nip part of a feed roller and a press roller. SOLUTION: A conveying mechanism of a card C of a composite treatment device 1 has the feed roller 21 arranged at one side of a card conveying passage P2; the press roller 22 arranged at the other side; and an urging member 50 for pressing the press roller 22 to the feed roller 21. A rotation axis 21a of the feed roller 21 is perpendicular to a conveying direction of the conveying passage P2 and an axis 45a of the press roller 22 is inclined in a direction perpendicular to the conveying direction. Since abutment positions (nip part) 55, 56 between the rollers are deviated to the front and rear sides in the conveying direction, when the card C is removed from the nip part between the rollers, the whole of a trailing end Ca is not simultaneously removed and is gradually removed from its one side. Force in a feeding direction C2 applied from the roller side to the card C can be made small and fluctuation of the feeding speed of the card C can be suppressed. COPYRIGHT: (C)2006,JPO&NCIPI
