An automotive sensor (10) has active and passive components (20, 30) incorporating transmitting and receiving aerials on a mounting plate. The active components (20) include a transmitter (21), a receiver (22), a signal processing unit (23) and a communications section (24) with a semiconductor (50). The passive components (30) are incorporated in a ceramic block (40) on which the ceramic unit (50) is located.
