PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image display device capable of increasing its size and enhancing its definition by positioning a spacer and a supporting substrate to a substrate with high definition. SOLUTION: A spacer structure 22 is provided between a first substrate 10 with a phosphor screen formed and a second substrate 12 with a plurality of electron emission sources 18 fitted. The spacer structure is provided with a plate-shaped supporting substrate 24 opposed to the first and the second substrates and at the same time, having a plurality of electron beam passing holes each opposed to the electron emission sources, and a plurality of spacers set in erection on the surface of the support substrate. The support substrate is provided with a plurality of divided substrates 32 arranged in alignment with an interval and a plurality of bridge parts 34 capable of expanding and contracting coupling the divided substrates.
