PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a cassette monitoring system which has improved security and provides a cassette handling person with improved work efficiency. SOLUTION: The cassette monitoring system comprises a cash cassette 2 and a host device 15. The cash cassette 2 is provided with a door capable of being locked and a door open/close detection part for detecting a change in a lock state of the door 3 and transmits information showing the change in the lock state of the door 3 when detecting the change in the lock state of the door 3 by the door open/close detection part. The host device 15 receives information showing the change in the lock state of the door 3, which is transmitted from the cash cassette 2, and stores the received information into a storage part.
