PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a cationization agent hardly generating a higher multiply charged ion even in a high molecular weight of component, and capable of exhibiting an effect of ionizing a slightly ionized material even in a small use amount, as to an ESI method, and an SEC/ESIMS measuring method and SEC/ESIMS measuring instrument using the cationization agent. SOLUTION: This cationization agent for the ESI is a mixture solution of one kind selected from a group comprising a mixture of a potassium halide and KOH, a potassium halide, NaOH, KOH, RbOH and CsOH, and of water. In this SEC/ESIMS measuring method and SEC/ESIMS measuring instrument, a measuring sample is made to flow through an SEC column to conduct SEC separation, the sample after eluted from the column is mixed with the cationization agent, and the sample is ionized by the ESI method to mass-analyze the ionized sample.
