摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method of manufacturing an optically homogeneous solid glass molding from molten glass and a method of manufacturing a glass base material for press-molding, an optical device and a glass substrate, respectively. SOLUTION: The method of manufacturing the glass molding is a method for molding into solid glass by using a mold having a through-hole, continuously pouring the molten glass flow to an inlet of the through-hole and continuously taking out from an outlet. The mold is arranged so that the inlet of the though-hole is positioned higher than the outlet. The surface temperature of the molten glass flow poured into the mold is controlled to be lower than that of the core part. The molten glass flow is poured into the mold while prompting the cooling of the surface. The cooling of the surface of the molten glass is prompted by bringing the molten glass poured into the through-hole into contact with the inner peripheral surface of the through-hole. The temperature of the molten glass collected in a vessel is controlled to be higher than the temperature of a lower end of a pipe through which the molten glass flows out (the difference of the temperature is 20-120°C).
