A muffler for removably installing onto a pneumatic tool. A muffler housing has a deflector plate dividing the tool exhaust gases into streams of gas. The streams impinge upon an airfoil rotatably mounted within the housing mixing the streams and gas pulses in a more uniform mixture which then is emitted from the housing.
