METHOD AND DEVICE FOR REMOVING A DISC-SHAPED INFORMATION CARRIER FROM A MOULD

Method and installation for removing a disc-shaped information carrier moulded by injection moulding and possibly subsequent pressing from a mould cavity. Removal takes place, inter alia, by blowing in air from one mould section. This blown air is blown from the central punch member from the centre of the disc towards the outside. According to the invention it is proposed to close off the opening in the disc-shaped information carrier during this operation. Preferably this is effected by leaving the punch member in the opening when blowing out the gas, such as air. The characteristics of the core of the disc-shaped information carrier can be optimised by this means.
