The method for production of adjustable steering wheel columns for vehicles which comprise an outer tube (14) with toothing (28), which cooperates with a cogwheel to raise and lower an inner tube, uses a knurling wheel (40) mounted on a bar (42) which slides inside the outer tube along the opposite surface (16) to that on which the toothing is produced.
