METHOD FOR PRODUCING BLACK COATING COMPOSITION, METHOD FOR PRODUCING RESIN BLACK MATRIX, METHOD FOR PRODUCING COLOR FILTER AND METHOD FOR PRODUCING LIQUID CRYSTAL DISPLAY

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a black coating composition having excellent light-shielding property and electric resistance and provide a color filter and a liquid crystal display having excellent displaying performance and light-shielding property.

SOLUTION: The method for producing a black coating composition containing titanium oxynitride and a resin as essential components comprises (A) a method for reducing titanium dioxide or titanium hydroxide in the presence of ammonia at a high temperature or (B) a method containing a step to produce titanium oxynitride by attaching a vanadium compound to titanium dioxide or titanium hydroxide and reducing in the presence of ammonia at a high temperature, a step to measure the X-ray diffraction intensity on the titanium oxynitride obtained by the former step and produce a black paste by using a titanium oxynitride having an intensity ratio at a specific diffraction angle satisfying a specific formula and a step to apply the black paste to a substrate and dry the paste.
