<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an optical disk device executing writing of data to an optical disk by the optimum laser power even when data writing is executed at a writing speed different from that at the time of OPC (Optimum Power Control). <P>SOLUTION: The reflected light laser power during the formation of pits on a recording surface of the optical disk at the start of data writing is measured and the value of the reflected light laser power at the point of the time the reflected light laser power at the start of the data writing attains nearly the specified value upon lapse of the prescribed time after the start of the bit formation is set as a reference level. During the data writing in a user data area, the reflected light laser power under the formation of the pits on the recording surface of the user data area is kept measured at all times by a measuring means, and the laser power is so controlled that the value of the reflected light laser power at the point of the time the nearly specified time is attained upon lapse of the specified time from the start of the pit formation coincides with the set reference level at all times. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2006,JPO&NCIPI |
