PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a surface mounted choke coil for preventing a magnetic flux from being leaked to the surroundings, for securing high mechanical strength, for simplifying miniaturization and thining, and for preventing manufacturing costs from being increased. SOLUTION: This surface mounted choke coil 1 is configured of a drum core 2 constituted of an upper flange 21, a lower flange 22 and a winding core 23, a coil 3 wound around the winding core 23, and buffering shield materials 4 formed outside the coil 3; and interposed between the upper flange 21 and the lower flange 22 of the drum core 2.
