PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a magnetic tape having high reliability in durability as a magnetic recording medium which can correspond to a high recording density property. SOLUTION: This medium is a magnetic recording medium having a magnetic layer (application type magnetic layer) including magnetic powders and bonding resin at one side plane of a non-magnetic supporter, also, having a back coat layer at the other side plane. a carbon layer of thickness of 2nm to 10nm is provided on the magnetic layer.
