PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for aligning one set of a magnetic head and optical head for executing magnetic recording and the like in a heat assist recording system in such a manner that both face each other via a magnetic disk. SOLUTION: The method includes processes of trajectory forming, scanning, test recording, reproducing, etc., in the state of rotating the magnetic disk. The trajectory forming process S1: the magnetic trajectory of one round of track is formed in a recording layer by magnetic field application by the magnetic head. The scanning process S2: while a magnetic signal is measured by the magnetic head, the recording layer is heated up by irradiation of the magnetic disk with a laser beam by the optical head from the side opposite to the magnetic head and during this time, the optical head is scanned in the prescribed direction. The test-recording process S3: the recording layer is heated up by irradiating the magnetic disk with the laser beam by the magnetic head in the position of the optical head when the magnetic signal is attenuated in the previous stage while the magnetic field is applied to the recording layer by the magnetic head.
