PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To perform changing over to a state of display from a state of a mirror of a multifunctional image display apparatus which employs the state of the mirror and the state of the display at appropriate timing. SOLUTION: The multifunctional image display apparatus 1 is equipped with a half mirror 40 on the inner side of a hole 11 prepared on the front side of a case 10 and is equipped with a liquid crystal display device therein. Also, the front of the case 10 is provided with a person detecting sensor 12. When a person comes into the front of the person detecting sensor 12, the sensor detects the same and generates a detection signal. The liquid crystal display device starts displaying an animation image taking advantage of the generation of the detection signal. As a result, the multifunctional image display apparatus 1 changes over to the state of the display from the state of the mirror. COPYRIGHT: (C)2006,JPO&NCIPI
