PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a tape shape measuring apparatus capable of measuring a tape shape such as a curve and width fluctuation, without imparting excessive force onto a tape if possible, by simple constitution. SOLUTION: This tape shape measuring apparatus S1 for measuring the shape of the magnetic tape MT is provided with an attraction block 10 having a chargeable flat attraction face 10a for attracting the magnetic tape MT, a guide member 21 slidable along the attraction face 10a in a longitudinal direction of the magnetic tape MT between the magnetic tape MT and the attraction face 10a, and for separating the magnetic tape MT from the attraction face 10a to guide the attraction of the magnetic tape MT, and an air pressing-out means 30 for pressing the attracted magnetic tape MT to press out air between the magnetic tape MT and the attraction face 10a.
