PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To largely reduce manufacturing cost of various plate heat pipes applying a meandering small diameter pipe heat pipe technology, by effectively using an extremely inexpensive porous flat pipe provided by extrusion molding of one process of light metal. SOLUTION: A partition wall of a through-pore group is cut off by the predetermined depth every other one strip from both side terminal end surface sides of the porous flat pipe, and cutoff in an opposite side end surface is performed by mutually respectively dislocating by one strip. Next, a cutoff part is left as it is without collapsing the length of 1 to 3 mm from its deepest part, and both terminal edge parts of the flat pipe are collapsed. Next, a collapsed edge part is welded and sealed. Thus, the pore group becomes a series of meandering tunnel, and the plate heat pipe is constituted by sealing a predetermined quantity of operating liquid in this tunnel by a predetermined means. The manufacturing cost is reduced to 1/10 by the synergistic effect such as cost reduction in the porous flat pipe, reduction in the quantity of raw material used, shortening of a process and simplification of work. Performance and reliability as a heat pipe are also largely improved. COPYRIGHT: (C)2006,JPO&NCIPI
