PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method capable of stably producing organopolysiloxane aqueous dispersion without using much emulsifier nor organic solvent, to provide an aqueous resin composition containing the aqueous dispersion, and to provide an aqueous coating composition containing the aqueous resin composition. SOLUTION: The method for producing the organopolysiloxane aqueous dispersion is characterized by finely dispersing a mixture (I) in an aqueous medium to have≤500 nm average diameter, which mixture contains (A) organopolysiloxane having no hydrolyzable silyl and (B) a polymerizable unsaturated monomer, and polymerizing the obtained emulsion, wherein polyether-modified silicone oil is preferably used as the organopolysiloxane having no hydrolyzable silyl.
