OPTICAL FIBER TRANSMITTER

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an optical fiber transmitter, wherein a mounting space for an optical fiber can be reduced while the optical fiber can be easily mounted.

SOLUTION: An optical element module 24 is set so that light is emitted or received in a direction almost perpendicular to a circuit board 34. A housing 26 has a recess 26b matching the optical element module 24 and is mounted on the optical module 24 from above the module to allow the recess 26b to cover the module 24. The housing 26 is provided with a light guide part 26e to guide light between the recess 26b and a fitting hole 26c for an optical fiber. As the optical module 24 is separated from the housing 26 and the light guide part 26e is arranged, an optical fiber 36 can be easily fitted and optical communication can be performed even when the direction of light emission or light reception of the optical module 24 is not aligned to the mounting direction of the optical fiber. This increases latitude of design and reduces a dimension in the height direction.
